Some
tips for producing good coursework:
Ø Start it early and take lots of
notes in the lessons.
Ø Extra lunch time sessions to help with written coursework – take
the opportunities.
How
parents can support their son/daughter with coursework:
Ø If it is possible, take them to the theatre
and discuss the play afterwards. We have
at least four or five productions in school each year and these productions
area always discussed in the lessons. Watching others work will always help them with ideas for their own
work.
Ø If
you have time, look over their written projects.
What
help the department provides:
We have extra lessons at lunchtimes to
help students to improve the quality of their written work. Please encourage them to attend these classes, if you think they
need help, as well as any extra rehearsals which may be set up.
How
students should go about asking for further assistance if they feel help is
needed:
See their teachers. Discuss any problems. We have one-to-one interviews with the
students after each module where any problems are discussed and targets can be
set.
Students set up their own extra
rehearsals which are agreed by the group. Students should take on board this responsibility and turn up for every
rehearsal that has been organised.
