The production of two detailed coursework folios which focus on the design and manufacture of modern engineered products to industrial standards.  Unit 1 looks at the design of a product and explores how best to present this to a level which could be used by industry.  It encourages students to analyse, test and evaluate their work at all stages of development.  Unit 2 covers the manufacturing side of the subject where students are given a product to make using industrial techniques.  The process students go through during manufacture is recorded in their folio along with decisions made about appropriate techniques and evaluation of their success.
