Year 8 Girls are Area Hockey Champions!

The Year 8 Girls Hockey team travelled to Cundall Manor to compete in the Hambleton & Richmondshire Area Hockey Tournament.
In their first match, against Cundall Manor, they used their pace and positioning to outwit their opponents, with sisters Emma and Zoe scoring the first two early goals. Cundall Manor pulled one goal back, but Emma sealed the win with a first- time shot from the top of the D.
Next up, was a much tougher task against a more experienced team from Thirsk and the match swung from end to end. Neither team could take advantage of their possession but some great defending from the player of the day, Sarah, saw the match end in a 0-0 draw.
Stokesley were the winners overall on goal difference which is a well-deserved reward for the team as they have been very dedicated all year, working very hard all in both training and matches in preparation for this tournament.
