Careers: Creative Careers Information Evening

19 February 2020  |  Darren Smith

Held on Thursday 21st November 2019 at Stokesley School

Our Creative Careers Information Evening was well attended by students in all year groups along with many parents. A great selection of professionals representing various creative careers, including some Stokesley School Alumni – were on hand to talk to students about their job roles and career paths. Representatives from Teesside University and many local Colleges and Training Providers supported this event by bringing along interactive displays and giving presentations a variety courses available in this sector.

Students commented on how many variations of job roles there were out there, finding out what to study and where it could lead to was great!

Ed Trewhitt from the Brickyard Bakery, Guisborough commented “I had a really enjoyable evening talking to some lovely students about my career as an artisan baker. Without exception, the students were engaged, enthusiastic and polite! A real credit to themselves, their parents and the whole team at Stokesley School.”

As part of our stable Careers Programme, we plan focussed careers information evenings based on the career aspirations of our students, we hope to focus on ‘Careers in Engineering’ next time.
