Geographers enjoy a great weekend at Bewerley Park

10 February 2020  |  Darren Smith

Over the weekend of the 28th to the 30th June, the Geography Department  took 35 students to the Bewerley Park Outward Bounds Centre in Pateley Bridge.

The aim of the weekend was developing team skills and an appreciation of the outdoor environment. The students took part in a number of activities, including ghyll scrambling, high ropes, canoeing, kayaking and rock climbing.

For many, the highlights were the leap of faith from the top of a telegraph pole to a trapeze and jumping off the top of a waterfall into the plunge pool in the ghyll scramble. The annual Jones versus Page rounders’ match ended very closely at 5 rounders to 14. Well done Mr Page!

We are looking forward to taking next year’s Year 10 Geographers in 2020.
