Mathematics Trust Challenge
27 March 2020 | Darren Smith
Congratulations to George in Y11 who recently qualified for the Maclaurin Olympiad, the highest level round of the Intermediate United Kingdom Mathematics Trust Challenge. Only 600 students across the UK have achieved this standard.
George achieved a score of 129 out of 135 which exceeded the qualifying standard by 9 marks placing him in the top 1.5% in the country. Many of Stokesley school’s high ability students have achieved Bronze Silver and Golds awards. Some of the best have moved up to the next round called the “Kangaroo” but only a handful have made it to the ultimate round … the “Olympiad”
One of the students to have previously achieved this was George himself, when he was in Y8!
Well done George
