Stokesley School celebrates excellent pass rate at A level and continued Oxbridge successPosted on: 20th, August 2017 in: General,
Students and staff are delighted by another year of stunning A. Level success at Stokesley School. A. level success was marked by 96% pass rate in all A. Level subjects with twelve students achieving A*/A grades in all of their subjects. 100% of students achieved A level passes in at least two subjects whilst more than 26% of all students achieved AAB grades in at least two facilitating subjects, the subjects preferred by the country’s most prestigious universities. More than a quarter of all grades awarded were at A* or A. Twins, Benjamin and Daniel Houldsworth, achieved 7 A*/A grades between them – a fantastic achievement!
Stokesley’s proud tradition of Oxbridge success continues. Two students who were holding Oxbridge offers are looking forward to taking up their places: John Hutchinson is destined for Selwyn College, Cambridge to study Linguistics and Helena Greening will study Fine Art at Oxford University. Again this year, the vast majority of our students will go on to study at Russell Group universities from Edinburgh University in the north to Exeter University in the south west studying a great diversity of courses from Medicine, Veterinary Medicine and Engineering to English, History, Economics and Business Management.
Headteacher, Catherine Brooker, said, “This is a tremendous achievement – in a year when there was so much uncertainty nationally, our students have excelled. We wish them all well as they move on to higher and further education.”
